This page brings together key guidelines to support your studies. Please familiarise yourself with them at the beginning of the course and refer to them as needed throughout the course.

Degree Regulations

The Degree Regulations define the key principles and practices related to studying. They ensure clear and consistent procedures throughout the study path, and their purpose is to ensure the quality of education and student rights.

The Degree Regulations are available on the intranet:

Academic Ethics and Good Scientific Practice

Studies follow good scientific practice and ethical principles. This includes careful use of sources, completing your own work independently, and responsible use of artificial intelligence. Misconduct, such as plagiarism or presenting someone else’s work as your own, is prohibited.

Artificial Intelligence in Studies

The use of generative AI applications is generally permitted to support learning and the completion of assignments. The teacher determines and communicates the principles of AI use and how its use must be reported. The principles may vary depending on the course  learning outcomes, teaching methods and assessment methods.

Within Tampere Universities, Microsoft Copilot Chat is primarily used via TUNI credentials. When using artificial intelligence tools, you should note that, for example, Google Gemini, ChatGPT and other free versions may use the data you input in ways that do not comply with the information security requirements of the higher education community. Do not share confidential or personal data in these services.

Guidelines for AI are available in the student's guide:

Accessibility and Individual Study Arrangements

Accessibility means a study and working environment where everyone can participate equally, regardless of their characteristics. If you need individual support, for example due to learning difficulties, or if you have an illness or disability that affects your studies, you may be granted individual study arrangements.

More information is available in the student's guide:
